Why compress or resize an image?

PixSqueeze shrinks a photo's file size for faster page loads and email attachments, or resizes its dimensions to fit a specific width or height — useful for uploading to sites with file size limits, prepping images for the web, or just saving space. Drop in an image, adjust the size and quality, and download the result.

How it works

Your image is decoded and redrawn onto an HTML canvas directly in your browser, then re-encoded at your chosen dimensions, format, and quality — nothing is uploaded to a server, so it works even offline once the page has loaded and your photo never leaves your device.

Frequently asked questions

Is this free to use?

Yes. There's no sign-up and no limit on how many images you compress or resize.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. Your image is decoded, resized, and compressed entirely inside your browser using the Canvas API. See the privacy policy for details.

Which formats are supported?

You can open JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and most other browser-readable image formats, and export as JPEG, PNG, or WebP.

Why is my PNG not getting smaller with the quality slider?

PNG is a lossless format, so the quality slider only affects JPEG and WebP output. To shrink a PNG further, reduce its dimensions or export it as JPEG or WebP instead.
